The Digital Agri Hub is a good public initiative developed and maintained by Wageningen University and Research (WUR). The Hub tracks the evolution of the digital agriculture (D4Ag) ecosystem in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). In collaboration with sectoral stakeholders, the Hub regularly publishes new insights and updates on important developments in the domain of digital agriculture. At the core of the Hub rests a database with a queryable dashboard currently featuring more than 1250 digital solutions deployed across LMICs. The site is available in English, French and Spanish. The Hub interfaces with D4Ag stakeholders via electronic communities (ENFR and ES) where it facilitates eConversations (email-based dialogues) on selected topics. If further regularly publishes blogs, infographics and insight reports which are freely accessible on its website.

The Digital Agri Hub was established in 2021. After an incubation phase, years 2023 and 2024 registered successes in terms of output delivery (working digital solutions registered on the database increased from close to 800 in December 2022 to 1250 at the end of 2024), gained recognition and visibility. Institutional partnership memoranda were signed with the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

In 2024, the Hub deployed a data entry facility which offers digital solution and service providers the opportunity to register their companies and offerings if deployed in LMICs or to update existing data in the Hub’s database. The team of the Hub’s validates the information and attributes self-maintained solutions a verification badge. Verified solutions feature prominently and on the Hub’s dashboard and are more visible to investors, donors, and other stakeholders in the D4Ag sector.

Since 2023 the Hub has been organising, hosting, and facilitating so called eConversations. These are email-based debates on selected topics all having a D4Ag focus. So far, such debates have been run on the English-speaking dGroup which accounts for close to 2000 members.

eConversations are introduced by the organisers to the members of the D4Ag dGroup via a conversation framework where the topic at stake is presented. Facilitators than pose predefined questions at weekly intervals. Each question is debated by the members of the dGroup over a period of 4-5 days. A comprehensive summary of the exchanges is produced and posted on the Hub’s website and dGroup’s wiki which represents in itself a valuable compilation of resources on the topic. The content of the summary is freely available and can be re-published under Creative Commons license.
