Digital agricultural extension and advisory services play a vital role in the success of agripreneurs in sub-Saharan Africa. Innovative, information communication and exchange gives farmers and entrepreneurs access to best practices quickly, affordably, and at scale.
As the agricultural sector grows in sub-Saharan Africa, extension must grow with it through the integrated use of ICTs, from mobile phones to mass media.
So how do digital advisory services work? How does Farm Radio work with public extension systems to use interactive radio and mobile platforms to create innovative digital advisory platforms? And what is the future of digital advisory services in sub-Saharan Africa?
From November 14 – 20, 2021, the 5th annual Africa-Wide Agricultural Extension Week will bring together hundreds of participants from across Africa to discuss these new developments and emerging needs in agricultural extension and advisory services.
Join Farm Radio International and a panel of digital advisory experts in an Agricultural Extension Week side event on November 15 as they:
- Share best practices from pilots in fostering digital advisory services for agripreneurship,
- Encourage collaboration between platforms, policy-makers, and investors, and
- Outline a vision for the future of digital advisory platforms that brings together actors from across the value chain to create a sustainable future of agripreneurship.
