The Pan-African Farmers’ Organization (PAFO) will hold its 6th Ordinary General Assembly in Tunis, Tunisia, from October 23 to 28, 2023. It will be hosted by the Maghreb and North African Farmers’ Union (UMNAGRI), a member of PAFO. Several events will be organized on this occasion, including the Rural Women’s Forum, the Agroecology Workshop, the Workshop on “Mapping of Farmer Organizations (FOs) and African Local Agricultural Products,” the Mid-Term Evaluation of PAFO’s Strategy (2021-2025), and a Roundtable of PAFO partners. These events will culminate on October 27 and 28 with the 6th General Assembly of PAFO holding.
The objectives of these events are, first, to provide a forum for PAFO’s governance bodies to discuss and approve reports, programs, plans, and activities implemented between two assemblies; second, to inform members, farmers, and partners of PAFO’s commitment at continental and global levels; and finally, to offer a platform for knowledge sharing, exchanges, advocacy, and lobbying among Farmer Organizations and with technical and financial partners.
PAFO’s General Assembly will take place in a hybrid format, bringing together delegates from all member regional networks of PAFO across the continent and technical and financial partners of PAFO.
