Watch Farm Radio International’s town hall on COVID-19, misinformation, and the role of radio in Africa.

It’s been a year and a half since COVID-19 has changed our lives. Inspired by the good work of radio broadcasters throughout the pandemic, we checked in with our staff and broadcasting partners to find out what the situation is, now.

Vaccines are changing the discourse in Africa — but depending on which country you are in, and where in a country you are, access is limited, expensive, or next to impossible to come by. Our panel last month talked to broadcasters and staff from Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda and Malawi to hear their experiences — both personal and professional — as they tackle misinformation, and shift tactics with a shifting pandemic.

The panel is moderated by David Gutnick, a recently retired CBC journalist. He is joined by Farm Radio’s Blessing Uwechia, from Nigeria, broadcaster Francis Azoska from Ghana, and broadcaster Precious Naturinda from Uganda.
